I don't have scientific fact, but I can fully concur and everyone laughed at me when I told them my chain driven SS felt like less effort compared to my belt driven SS.

Even when I ride the belt drive in anger, I still don't get the same kick I get from the chain.

and idea how much the belt stretches? And are they compatible with rohloff hubs?

The stretch is basically non existent as they are carbon belts, they are compatible with rohloff from what i have read...

I saw that, and even then he is purely speculating.

I must say however when I stand and jump the pedals up a climb ,it's pretty responsive.

Works with any hub that can take a sprocket, the Rolhoff being the top choice.
