29er Head tube angle

Hi,

 

I am trying to find out what geometry is the best on a 29er Hard-tail for an xc bike

For a hard tail 69.5 degrees is ideal, 70.5 degrees is acceptable.

 

On Dual Sus 71 degrees is it.

Most dual-sus 29er XC bikes have head angles between 70 and 71 degrees.

i had the giant hardtail.. 71,5 degree... nice and nippy, but going down steep rocky decents you get get the sensation of going over the handle bars when you were on the brakes.

 

Now iv got a Carbon Scott scale.. 69 degree head angle.... super stable and awesome confident going down steep stuff... climbing steep tight switch bcks is no problem, but the giants geometry handled that better..

i also have 71.5° on my Stumpy and have no issue going down steep stuff. I also find it very responsive.

Google ip-057. You can get it for around 5200. Must be used with a shimano e-thru bolt. Its ht ange is 69.5 and not 71 like the stumpy. Hence me asking what geo it the best. As spez and cannondale can't be wrong.

Good, old school 71/73 between headtube and seattube. Its been the standard since real MTB's came out.

Scott does. My Scale 940 sits at 69deg.

My Stumpie is 71 head tube, 73.5 seat tube. Currently I am nervous as héll going downhill and/or into anything loose. May have something to do with a big crash I had recently...

 

Before that I was very confident (for me) going downhill. The mind does play a biiiig role.
