Cyclists Killed in Durbanville: State of SA Roads

LL the co omen by GA is wrt the Surbanroad incident.

 

I have posted here before some if the emails I sent to GA and authorities wrt GA and their drivers. I pleaded that they do something before some gets killed. But alas nothing.

I cannot understand why roads cyclists that ride in the dark, have like a 10,000 lumen front light, but then a red back light that looks like a dying candle flame from 100 yards (or none at all...). I see this often...

 

Cars come from behind - put a massive flashing red light on the back for goodness sake - as big and bright as you can find!

 

I agree 1000%. Way more important. Unfortunately we do not have high quality back lights in this country, and the once really worth it, just gets so expensive.

Just this morning I had to take evasive action in my vehicle to avoid a GA Bus overtaking int the face of oncoming vehicles.

This was in Wellington rd, Durbanville, a 60km/h zone at the best of times. This morning in thick mist this Bus must have been doing at least 80km/h.

They are becoming a real menace on the roads.
