Polar Sonic Link to PC

This sonic link idea is so frustrating.

In the beginning polar gave me the required settings for a laptop microphone which has worked ok up to now.

 

Now that I have one ride that I am trying to upload and no matter what I try it refuses.

 

At exactly 49% transfer the watch has a slight pause in the data stream (morse code) and this is when the bloody thing looses the link.

 

Been trying for 30 minutes now and no joy.

 

I even tried adding an extra quick exercise to the watch to see if would get rid of that slight pause in the data stream but no difference.

 

Any ideas or experience with this.

Tried then failed, tried again and failed, then I simply gave up! Now I have a cs600 and love it.

Apparently Polar have an upgrade in the works - inspired by the ZX Spectrum - in future your rides will be recorded on to a cassette tape and you play them back to your machine with a USB tape recorder.

The cs600 links with infrared (same as your tv remote). It links to pc software opposed to the net upload.

I decided the sane course of action was to flog my CS500 for whatever I could get and buy a garmin

The only thing to do would be to buy a garmin. No nonsense

had the Polar rep try and set up my Laptop with even hs own microphone but still no joy.

 

I did manage to get it to work on my old XP machine at home with an old microphone but that PC is very old and due o die soon.

Guess it will be Garmin when this happens.

 

Pisses you off that they can use this old style still in this age of technology as it clearly does not keep up with technology.
