I got some sick footage of the event. Stage 1 didn't come out too well, gopro was mounted a bit high unfortunately, otherwise would have been awesome!!!

Stage 3 & 4 came out pretty good though!!! Will try post them sometime

Any idea who the photographers were on the day?

Would also like to know, I remember seeing a dude looking all professional with a camera near the bottom of stage 1 and I had to quickly look like I was in control...

Nigel was there time to pre-ride the courses? I don't know if there was, but I didn't get a chance to and I reckon if I did I could have cut times susbstantially. Or is the course supposed to be like a surprise?

It depends where you are .... From a safety perspective I had the tracks marked 2 weeks in advance ... so guys were free to ride them so they knew what was coming up ...

The same will happen for the enduro on the 27th at Cascades - however there you only have the morning to practice and racing is in the afternoon - BUT - you will likely be allowed to shuttle to the start of stages via vehicle ....

But then if you look overseas - some of the formats say that practice is allowed before but its limited, while others have unlimited practice, and then some (like the french) make you ride blind.

IMO - practice is good as it increases the safety of the event ... but it does gives okes an unfair advantage on those who havent had a chance to practice ... so the onus is on the rider to make sure they go and scout before the event

Thanks for all the info. It was my fault I never looked into pre-riding the course.... I think pre-ride is good yeah, definitely will improve safety, and obviously improves times. I'll definitely make sure I pre-ride for the next enduro event. Cheers

What runs do you use for enduro? Downhill section @ Oom Piet? That thing can get scary with all that ruts, fun though...

I love that Oom.

Any technical downhill section will work for practising. Doesn't even have to be long.
