Nige, you a legend son! Had a blast! Looking forward to next time. I had a look at the results and I was only 2sec behind your Father in law... That was the rock garden I reckon.... Time for me to grow a set.

No he ended up going around too! Yeah time to get on the bike and train a bit for the KZN Champs in a months time

It was a really fun track, I LOVE the riding in KZN.

The rock garden was surprisingly smooth with 7" of travel

The best section was after the road gap in that gully and down to the finish :w00t:

shot Nige and the rest for all the uplifts.

why was the race changed from the Sun to Sat, looked like a bit of a shambles?

I know! I had a chat to him afterwards. If I had gone through I might have ended up standing up front getting my picture taken!! KZN Champs..... I am off to Moz for a week in two weeks time so won't be riding in case something breaks (I am reffering to myself...). I'll def go out and spin the legs on the trail bike though. I get back the weekend before. Betting the regulars will be out in full force as well. Looking forward to seeing where the track will be!

Dude - I wont get into that on here but all i can say is ....http://i.stack.imgur.com/jiFfM.jpg

It was changed to Sat to try and link with the XC to get more spectators and to reduce costs of Shuttles, MArshalls, Medics etc and create a nice vibe .... was just a test to see if it worked.

IMO it hasnt - so am looking at ways to take it back to Sun with Practice on Sat and also to go back to venues such as Worlds View, Giba, Ricos, Comeleys. We have a ton of great tracks in KZN and it sucks being told that we HAVE to race at Cascades and HAVE to finish at the bottom finish area - this eliminates so much cool riding.

Anyway - Plans are starting for next year already! ... Will see what materializes.

Anyway

NEXT Event is scheduled at the moment for the 6th July ...... HOWEVER

This MAY CHANGE as it is the same day as the Cycling Indaba which most of the Commissares have to go to ....

So will keep you updated

The saturday racing worked quite well for the first provincial (in Feb), didn't it?

Seems like quite a few XC spectators stayed to watch the DH on that one.

I can't compare cos I wasn't there this past weekend, but was it the same as Feb or worse?

yeah the first one was cool as it was "something different" ... but the last 2 events ... the XC Eliminator and Pump Track events have been canceled as no one stayed on to take part - the XC okes just packed up and left - it was just the DH guys hanging around having some beers afterwards at about 4pm ... so its cool for a once off - but not a regular thing

I think we should have a Pump track DH bike race next time

13 year old Dom took like a teenager to a DH bike for her first race (having never previously ridden a DH bike).
