Apart from the new carbon cranks, apparently Shimano are going to change their STI levers as well. Found this inconspicuous paragraph at Cyclingnews.com about the Rabobank team bikes:

"The new bikes will be fully kitted out with Shimano Dura-Ace componentry and

wheels, but Prologo will now step in to supply saddles, replacing long-time

sponsor Selle San Marco. Interestingly, the mechanics also mentioned that we

should expect a new Dura-Ace groupset sometime this year. When asked if it was

the electronic group that a number of Rabobank riders have tested last year,

the mechanic shook his head. He did say, however, that the new Dura-Ace levers

will finally do away with the protruding shift housings which will finally be

concealed under the handlebar tape. Stay tuned..."

If there is one thing i really dislike about Shimano it has got to be the lever design. They may be functional and Dura Ace may be as good as Record as far as performance goes, but looks wise they are in my opinion just plain ugly. Lets hope they they get the design right this time, i may just be a convert in future.

some looks at it to be pretty 'nice'.. but of course,, it depends on the rider's taste whether to go for it or not.. and i will.. um, don't know yet. lol

I ride the 2008 Dura Ace, have a new 2010  SWORKS SL3 frame ON ORDER, I looked at getting the new Dura Ace, the price diffrence  +- R6000 and the weight diffrence of +- 150 grams of the 2009 D/A, told me NOPE, NOT WORTH IT. I told myself, but it looks so cool, yeah right, I then saw a bike with it fitted a few months ago and every black part had a nasty scratch on it with silver shining up from below. From a long term thing I think the plain silver 2008 Dura Ace will still look nice in 4-5 years time, so I am buying the old D/A
