Maybe someone can help. I know that in the 70.3 and full Ironman races you are not allowed to ride a MTB. Does anyone know if it is permitted in this race.

Thanks

According to ITU rules (applying to this race):

(ii) For draft illegal events

• The bike will be no more than one meter and eighty five (185) centimeters

long, and fifty (50) centimeters wide

• The bike will measure between 24 centimeters and 30 centimeters from

the ground to the center of the chain wheel axle.

• There will be no less than 54 centimeters and no more than 65

centimeters between a vertical line passing through the center of the

chain wheel axle and a vertical line through the center of the front wheel

axle.

• There will be a vertical line touching the front-most point of the saddle

which will be no more than 5 centimetres in front of, and no more tan 15

cm behind, a vertical line passing through the centre of the chain wheel

axle, and an athlete must not have the capability of adjusting the saddle

beyond these lines during competition.

• Non-traditional or unusual bikes or equipment shall be illegal unless prior

approval has been granted from the Technical Delegate, prior to the start

of the competition.

• Only logos of bicycle related products may appear on the athlete’s bicycle.

• Logos may not interfere with, or hinder the placement of, the bicycle race

number on the bicycle frame.

• Bike race number stickers, provided by ITU or the LOC, must be placed on

the bike as instructed, without any alteration.

• Bikes provided with the UCI Time Trial homologation label (Code TT) are

always allowed in ITU draft illegal events, even if they contravene any of

the 5 first bullets in this 5.2 b) (ii) insert

So I dont see reason in there you couldnt use a mtb. Best for organisers to confirm though

Whats the deal with this R111 service fee?

Hate it when the price is advertised as X and then these bogus charges are added on afterwards

Whats with the 16:00 to 18:00 Bike Checkout ???

Surely T2 can be opened once the Bike Course is closed...

Am sure that is an error , cant be that late..... Evet stats at 07:00 so should be finished by 15:30 ....I reckon that the time from 16:00 to 18:00 is for the last ppl to ensure they get their stuff...the leaders will finish by 11 ...cant see them hanging around til 16:00

I don't own a wetsuit at all...... so unless the water goes below 14 deg I think I will be fine...I think rules are that below 14 compulsory wetsuit, between 14 and 24 the choice is yours, above 24 no wetsuits....
