Squier Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Thanks Gerald! Great game, once again. Leaving out Kittel... This must be how Robbie Deans felt after leaving out Quade Cooper. Not the best decision. Pinot was nowhere and so was Voeckler. The Frenchies let me down badly! Sticking with Purito for 2014! Still, good fun! Thanks again Frosty!
'Dale Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Thanks Gerald. Cadel, Andy, Thomas and Tejay, I have nothing to say to you. :-O But, Breezer, you chose Andy - really?
Breezer Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 :-O But, Breezer, you chose Andy - really?Ek kies hom altyd met die hoop dat hy my sal verras, maar nou ja, ek is net verras dat ek nie slegter gedoen het nie. Hy het darem meer keer "gefeature" as Voeckler.
Frosty Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) Possible change in the scoring system. Lower the weigthing of the yerseys for each stage but Increase it in Paris with this increase the points for a stage win. This will make it more unpredictable. And more difficult to pick a strong overall team. It really was fun having a vested interest in watching the race. Thanks againI dont think major changes are needed and I really like you have to choose your team and stick to it! Perhaps individual stage wins could count for more points and maybe a few bonus points for the change of a jersey - ie 10 point when you wiin the jersety and then lesser points for keeping it? Otherwise I loved it and thoroughly enjoy the change from superbru! Gerald great job!I agree no major changes needed - keep it simple. But Igknot's suggestion of adding some extra weight for final jersey holders makes sense to me.The most popular suggestion is to have higher individual stage points and less weight on the jersey category for each stage, and then a higher weighting at the end of the tour I think option 1 with awarding points for the top 20 (or even top 30) is a very good way to do it. The only problem I'd have with a scoring system for all 198 placings is that you would get someone like Geraint Thomas for example who would lead the peloton for 50% of the race sacrificing himself for the team before blowing with 20km to go and finishing in the Grupetto in the bottom 20 riders. The 198 scoring system would benefit every rider on your team. It could be the difference required to win the competition. Not many people pick the domestiques for obvious reasons that they won't get a top 20/30 place. Take Valverde as an example. He was out of contention on stage 13 (the day of the crosswinds), unless he finished in the top 5 of any of the proceeding stages. Using this system, he would still score a few points for the day versus zero on the current system. Edited July 23, 2013 by geraldm24
