I like spectrum Sport .......... but they don't have a unique number history like WT or CC. but why can't we buy a number board?

Did a race once at N/Farm with a stupid foam thing in the number that was supposed to havve a chip - got no time, no result, nuttin. So I asked the organisers for my money back saying I did a race, but got no result so therefore it wasn't a race so can I have my entry fee back ...... hear fog all.

You can buy a board by SS......the question is would we be able to use it at all SS timed events. So far I have only used it at the Drifter series (oh and by the way we had to use a WT chip at Knysna's leg of the series last year....peculiar). They are quite on the ball these days SS.....

Both WT and CC have pro's and cons. WT you can see all your races done on their chip even when you still rented them, they are always at the registration to take abuse or otherwise, their search function is good and i quite like their results layout. The delay in posting results could be improved, communication improved, and queries improved.

If you have more than 1 CC chip you can only view that chips results, unless you pay an extra fee to have them linked, you cannot do a name search on races done when you still hired them. Communication is good and queries solved timeously.

idrive, you talking about the one where some dude stood with a paddle and tapped it on your number board?

Had the same problem as you and sweet ef all concern from the organisers.

Problem with those boards though is that the foam thing contains the chip and the actual number is a sleeve. So that leaves the system wide open for a stuff up, like the wrong foam insert in the wrong numbered sleeve.

What worries me is that the powers that be have named that same timing company as the official timing provider for MTB.
