Hi, from my New Balance newsletter. The more the merrier!

Due to such a lot of cycling accidents I will be starting a new initiative at the NBMC Road Pack Rides. How I will implement this is not known yet, but the idea is to have a safety/backup vehicle riding behind each of our cycling groups every weekend to be a buffer between the cyclists and approaching vehicles. A captain should lead by example, so I will be fulfilling this role this coming weekend, only difference is that I will have a whip in my hand, he he. This way I hope to attract more riders to our rides as it is a safer environment to cycle in. I do not mind if non members join us at this stage, so bring your friends with.

There will be 2 routes to choose from this weekend, a 50km and a 65km and the idea is to play cat and mouse and see who is home first. The 65km will be aimed at the fast and furious and the 50km will be for the fast and easy.

All riders (MTB & Road) will meet at Mugg & Bean afterwards where we will have a nice chat and where I will get your feedback and ideas. I will also talk about ideas for Double Century (DC).

Safe Cycling!

Doing a road ride with these okes tomorrow (If I'm welcome :whistling: )

Got a bit of a clunking noice coming from my Mtb crankset (knocked it against a few rocks going down Hillcrest Mast koppie last Saturday, not yet had time to fault find :cursing: :cursing: ), so I'm not doing Mtb rides till it's sorted.

Great vision.

On the side, always wondered whether a D Ville Cycling Club would be popular.

Please do not hesitate :whistling: .

I'll design the kit.

Probably green.

Heehee

Haha, I'm cool with that

Should be a very cool idea though, but I guess there's a LOT of hard work involved. Won't have any shortage of members - both road and MTB
