I am preparing my Felt B2 Pro (TT bike) for an endurance race which includes hills up to 16% gradients. Currently the gearing is 39/25. Given that one can (probably) do nothing about the front blade's 39, I am looking at obtaining the biggest possible rear granny gear - such as 27, 28, maybe 29?

Thanx I'm listening

I think it might depend on what groupset you using.

SRAM have got some serious granny gears. Contador even used a special type of RD to accommodate the gears.

Have a look at the European online stores, they'll probably have granny cassettes available.

easy, get a 11-28 or 11-32 and a wifli sram rear derailleur if you're running sram, or a compact crank with a 34t small chain ring

Or buy a new customised bike

From above it sounds like I can stick to the Dura-ace and just change the cassette to as whatever the highest is available.

thanx
