Ok well maybe that explains it, But I would have thought at his age he would have been peaking around the 3rd week but instead he flatlined. Anyway don;t want to argue a suspicion without more facts. His performamce just looked looked most suspect to me.

I have been wrong about dopers before...

its a sad world where all good results now get questioned .... but the mess that it created for itself

I agree. Froome was also questioned which I think is going to be natural. I think it will take some time for people to believe again, this is the sad thing about the impact of US Postal, Poestrong and Bruineel presence in the tour. Those dose make make me want to buy Campy, Colnago, Sidi and ASSOS forever after

There are many reasons for this ....

Cant dump it all on LA's door, many winners and most participants were involved. It was built over years, it would have been less scandalous if it was just him ... but sadly not. The fact that every non cyclist thinks cyclists are pumped to the gills with drugs is the fact it is very common knowledge that everyone did it. LA just perfected it.

It might have been Sky that said "but in those days people used the drugs instead of exploring other scientific training routes as it was an easier option". If they did have the cop out of drugs when they felt they could go no further now athletes have to find other (legal) way of getting to the next level. I can agree with that.

imo , the old school riders left in the sport havn't embraced modern training methods and maybe they relied too much on old trainin regimes (ie race yourself into form) with a little bit of synthetic help. the brits are now dominating on the track and road becos their governing body has poured a lot of money into the sport and employed sports scientists to get the best out of their athletes. my biggest concern though is that they head hunted a lot of aussie coaches who weren't shy to experiment with PED's.
