Yip I heard there's some added extras this year. Great prep for Van Gaalen the following week.

Just entered. Never done it before. Anybody have a route profile or can share any info? Camelback needed? Expected time for winners or middle of the pack? Enough parking?

What an enjoyable day. Best race organization I have seen in a long time. Nice route - enough variation. It appears the honesty seeding system worked fine. We did pass several A- bunch riders within the first 10km - they obviously don't know their abilities yet. Great day out for 2:17ish. I will definitely be back every year - WELL DONE!

...and before I forget: the best sign that this race was well thought out - a medal that is actually a keyholder WITH a bottle opener!!

Huge props to Richard and his team. Well organised event with a challenging course and they nailed every detail including the fantastic weather ;-)

Most importantly though, everybody had fun and I enjoyed listening to the war stories afterwards. Will definately enter again next year!

Great race! Was a very tough and technical route for me personally.

The coolest section was probably near the end riding through that old house and exiting down the steps!

Great race Richard!!

Looking forward to being able to ride the tracks on the other side of the river on our regular Avianto routes.

Lets hope they become available.

Other race organizers could take some notes from you. Single track is king.

Actually a pretty tough race esp for the distance. I rode to the race and back ( 16km x2) and underestimated the effort.

So in the olden days the spring classic was a lekker little jaunt out at the Riversands farm, kind of like a leg loosener for the new season. This was certainly a couple of steps up from that old race. More like the spring classics in Belgium for me, especially seen as though i have had a winter eating chocolates in front of the fire. The ascent for 41km was over 750m on my Garmin so that equates to an Epic stage if you carried on at that rate. Certainly caught me off guard as I was easing in to the new year. Big wake up call as to how fit I am.

Great route - certainly a lot tougher than what i was expecting. I think Avianto is coming on nicely and will now start to rotate this with N Farm if we can do some of the tracks across the way that we rode yesterday.

Was not looking forward to Avianto again after last weeks duathlon... in which I kaked off. But was on me new Scott Spark 940 beastie. So intended having a stomp.

Got there late (left me helmet and me shoes at home, whoops, had to go and fetch them... duh...) Started the 45k in last place in batch F or G, whatever it was, but had a jol overtaking everyone. There was a bit of a bottleneck on the first single track climb. Some tools were cutting across the field, obviously convinced they were gonna win from D batch... which seemed a bit like taxi logic to me, backing EVERYONE else up further... (anyways... smile and wave...)

But... all in all, great event. Tough ol' course, but was really nice. Well done designers. Couple of beers in the tent after with the family was lekker.

Biggest score of the year though... got a bib for R50... heehaw! Thanks Eqstra!
