Sounds like it, but if Jean rode the route and said that it was tougher than Clarens there must be another mother of a climb that will make us cry.

I did Clarens ultra this year and I highly doubt it, Nothing out there is tougher than the Clarens Ultra

Then I would recommend taking your 26" hardtail :whistling:

I'm also leaning that way. I've only had the rigid for a month and rode the Trans with it. Worked really well as it is very light and climbs very well but I'm not 100% comfortable on the rugged downhills yet, the vibrations etc. takes some getting used to. Took it over Brandkop a couple of times and it wasn't that bad but what I remember from Eden I would probably be better off on the 26 with some sort of suspension.

If Jean says it is hard then I can already feel the pee running down my legs. Im bloody terrified,

This is the first time that AfriCycleTours will be in charge of the Eden. The new route is great and exiting. Should be pretty difficult to get lost. The first 25-30km is the toughest. There is a New mountain to get over that replaces the Concrete climb. We also have a nice flowing but super sweet part through the plantation/bush. And its really hard to get lost. Everyone will enjoy this.

For the man with the 29" ridged bike. I would suggest to use the 26". Its only 70 km but its tough on the body. And some of the downhill sections might not go down so easy without a shock.

I am very exited to see every one there. Its going to be a tough but satisfying day in the saddle.

Great stuff, I'll be there!!! Will bring a couple of colleagues along who are keen on the shorter route.

How technical is the 35km route?

The 35km is not that technical. The whole route is completely ridable. Some times a bit tough. So you might have to walk 5 or 10 steps. But nothing to cry about.
