Flashfozzy Posted August 19, 2013 Share After having stomach pain for 24hrs I am now short an appendix! Has anyone had this operation? How long before you were back in the saddle and beating mountain paths? Doc says do what i want, pain is the stopping point. This does not help 10km from the start of a trail.Any input is welcome. New Landy new life Posted August 19, 2013 Share 1 week max, but I was 19 then so bounced back quick. Depends how much stomach muscle you have - the more you have for them to slice through the harder to heal up Edited August 19, 2013 by CapeLandy
V12man Posted August 19, 2013 Share I would give it 10 days off the bike - you wouldn't want to stress the wound too much - or heaven forbid - take a fall and get a bar end in the area....

Daniel XTR Posted August 20, 2013 Share Mine burst 4 weeks ago. I got opened up properly as mine burst. My surgeon has said 6 weeks off. Right now, I feel 100% and have done so for a week already. Losing my mind. But don't feel like that pain again. So I'll just comply.
Flashfozzy Posted August 21, 2013 Share I luckily caught mine before it popped! They said another 12 hours and it would have been a different story.Off to Champagne castle on Friday and really want to ride!Bike will go with anyway just in case I can get a few short rides in. Skott5 Posted August 21, 2013 Share I struggled after mine. Took me three weeks to recover properly, but was stupid and went back to work after 3 days. Was supposed to be booked off for a week.I think the key is rest and let the body heal. Even laproscopicly there is a lot of cutting going on under the skin.I would wait a minimum of 10 days, but give it 14 days to be safe.
