CWC Marcello frame - in need of fork and headset

So I bought this frame from one of the last CWC sales last week, but I'm struggling to source a fork and headset for it. Unfortunately I was too late for one of the options with a fork...

I was wondering if anyone on this forum bought a similar frame and is already making progress with building it up. In other words, what fork and headset are you using and where did you get it from?

I also bought the same frame. I got a headset from CWC when I bought mine - I'm still to get a fork as well. I have asked them repeatedly but to no avail, I'm still awaiting my call back from Chris Jr in connection with this, 4 weeks and counting.

Have you spoken to CWC to see if they have any forks

Thanks all. Please keep the advise coming.

@Caerus: What headset did you get? CWC replied to my email that they don't have any forks for these frames anymore

You need an intergrated headset, like this

The bearings fit directly in the frame.

There are a couple carbon fork on the classifieds, that would work.

Flowta, have you used this headset on this frame? From my measurements I don't think it will fit.

Probably best to get to my LBS and try the headsets to find the right one. Trying to do this from the comfort of my desk thou

I have a EC70 carbon fork available if anyone is keen. Not sure on steerer length.

PM me and we can chat. Not sure if it will work with the frame, that would be for the gurus to tell us.

The cups are machined into the headtube, they fit standard headset bearings.

I fitted one (not the exact one but similar that I had lying around) on my wifes bike a while back, bought the same frame that was posted for my father-in-law when CWC had the sale. Will try it tonight and give you feedback.

I bought one of the frames that included forks. I collected it at the shop and they helped me finding a headset from a box of parts. I will read/measure the model number/sizes tonight.

i managed to get a headset to fit..but went to my lbs who made it up from 2 diff ones i think. he also managed to find me a derailleur hanger

Mike, any chance you can tell me what bike/frame the hanger was made for? Maybe pictures from both sides if not fitted yet? (CWC don't have hangers, but they told me they would help searching for one if I bring the frame back in)

If it's the frame in the picture, it fits a hanger from a Scott Speedster S4. Also saw a Mongoose MTB in CWC which looked like it might fit.

Thanks Straatvark. That would be awesome. What did the headset end up costing you in the end?

Just for curiosity ...what is the frame weight on it as it is ?

Weighed it last night, and if I recall correctly it was just under 1.5kg (measured on a digital kitchen scale). Not sure if that's good or bad, but probably the subject for a whole other topic thread...

Thanks for all the help with this guys. Keep it coming. Hopefully at the end of this thread, I'll finally have a road bike

Putting it all together will be easy, as I've built up a couple mtb's over the years. But those are far more standard with component sizes...
