Ultegra - 105 Compatability

Is the Ultegra 10 speed cassette compatable with the 105 STI/rear shifter?

Yes. I've done just that and it works fine.

Thanks for the feedback, just wanted confirmation as I suspected that this was the case.  Suppose it must be the same ie9 or 10 speed.

as long as the cassette is the same speed as the shifters, you'll be fine.

 

the reverse also happens, people buy ultegra cassettes to use with their dura ace shifters

[/quote'] ...I have never seen the benefit of running with a Dura Ace cluster and have of late always replaced with Ultegra. The cost saving far exceeds the perceived benefit of having 3 Ti sprockets!! Delgado2008-02-13 07:50:53

You can even use kempekkernoglia on a Shimano cassette, fortunately the Shimano cassette will increase the value of the kempekker parts greatly.

I always ride with an Ultegra cassette on my Dura groupset. The Ultegra is much harder wearing and doesn't wear out as quickly as the Dura Ace.
