Complete with bottle cage, slime and pedals..no saddle though but saddle weigh less than pedals so should be a bit lighter than as a claimed weight as brands do, plus could take off for slime so might be close to 9.5kgs like that

so...IF you also take a lekka dump before your ride...you could still shave off another 1.5kg's ??? :whistling:

nice job!!

It's an interesting debate this. Weight v price.

We regularly see a weight below 10kg for around the 55k price point or a weight of just over 11kg for around the 39K price point. Same frame, different components but the bottom line is the ride is the same.

My personal XL with a lefty, 3x10, pump, bombs, cages, slime and a reverb 420mm dropper post, in other words ride ready, weighs 11.8kg.

Hi

I disagree..ive own around 70 bikes and ride quality is different..u cannot compare a 3x10 XT to a XX1 bike and 2kgs off a bike wright is huge...also carbon wheels ride different as well..so completely different feeling, handling bike

Its like saying a 1.6L Golf and a GTI Golf drive the same as they have the same body....?

I'm not saying you need to spend the same money...the R39000 bike will also be sweet..but compare apples with apples...

If you have the money and can appreciate the nicer bike then do it in my opinion...

Ps..lefty most weight much less as you have to use an adapter and fork on here is a sid xx brain..think total weight around 1500g and no lock out lever...plus don't have the extra cash for carbon lefty

Carbon lefty is overrated, Alu with pbr lockout weighs 40g more and costs 4k less.

To say the drive train affects the ride is absolute rubbish, it will only affect the shifting performance. Think about it, how can the crank and cassette affect geometry?

I agree that carbon wheels are more rigid but on a 29er the weigh difference between a good set of aluminium wheels and cheaper carbon wheels is negligable. Rigidity gives better handling, often at the expense of ride comfort. But on a dual suspension frame the fork and shock just work a little harder. However, 90%+ of riders do not perform at anywhere near the limit of a wheel like AC or Arch so it's a moot point anyway.

Hardtail?

No, XL dual suspension, Lefty at front, Fox CTD or Monarch rear, depending on my mood. Oh, and I do have a set of my brand carbon rims laced to Project321 hubs.
