Howzit Guys & Gals

This weekend at the corrugated dust dirt road ride, aka Crater Cruise I noticed I started to get some chain slap at about 20km into the race, I stopped to check if the switch was set to ON on my rear derailleur and it was...

I knew something wasnt right so carried on, got home, washed bike and took off the cover to inspect the clutch mechanism.

I then saw a little metal part hanging loose with the scre in the top and noticed on the one side it had a clean break.

Has this happened to anyone else here and what was the fix, can I get another little part or would this be warrantied at all?

I bought this on the 4th April 2013 and put it on just before Joberg2c

eish skills, imo I think the clutch is fubar, I dont think they sell individual items in it to replace or maintain. Where did you get the DR from?

Got it from CWC

PS they might argue that this a wear and tear part though.

It should last longer than 6 months, this was the deraileur I put on the weekend before we did Joberg2c...

It should have a one year warranty so take it back.

Im hoping so, Ive mailed the gents at CWC...

Is that piece not the adjusting wrench (similar to the XTR one)?

Sure dude, I would at least try for a warrantee, time to test CWC warrantee it seems.

If it's an internal encased section, i'd say warranty!

Unless SkillZ was testing his limits at VG & 3T :whistling:

Doesn't he always...he isn't called skills for nothing

Seems like a known issue, will wait for the next generations before going 1x10

This is exactly whats happened to mine, I hope it gets warrantied or even if they can give me a handful of those little metal parts so when they do break I can replace it in a few minutes.

If this cant be done, like the guy on MTBR says, maybe upgrate to the XTR as its a different system in there thats built stronger.
