Making a fender for your MTB

I print it on an A4 sheet then cut it out and see how it fits on the fork.

I then tweak it slightly if need be when I draw the lines around the plastic and cutting it out.

However I used a Jive bottle and its narrow and then flares out at the top. Also it works for a good few months and then the plastic needs a boost of viagra to keep it from bouncing into the tyre.

I have made a set recently but used a 20 Liter container which was used for acid from Protea Chemicals. The plastic is still very light but much stronger.

 

Used a spotlight to heat the plastic to form the shape. So far so good. Made it for front and back. All the moving parts are now protected from mud and dust.
