Hi guys,

I'm in the market for a mtb under R7k. I have narrowed it down to the Silverback Nabraska and the Schwinn Moab disc. I can't make up my mind between the 2. Can anyone offer me some advice and/or alternatives that I might have overlooked. Main diff between the 2 bikes is that the Schwinn comes with Sram components and the Silverback with Shimano components. Any thoughts on this....

Hi Danie

I have a Nabraska and so far I'm really happy with it, I have nothing bad to say about the bike and is really a awesome ride. Tora is a good shock and the Avid Juicy3 hydraulics provide featherlight, powerful stopping performance. Weirwolf 2.1" tires really provide excellent grip on dirt, but rolling resistance on tar is high. But then you don't buy a mtb for the road...

The GT 1.0 was on my list as well but the Tora is way better than the Suntour fork.

I reckon the Silverback provides the best value for money. Besides I got mine with a 12% discount so there was nothing else price wise coming close to it.

Thanks for the info, now please share wear you got it, and I'll use the discount  to upgrade to Maxxi Crossmarks for good grip and low rolling resistance.
