Advice Please :-) Questions to ask when getting bicycle insurance ??

I really do recommend i-cycle. They don't seem to have any loop holes at all.

They were very specific when dealing with my wheel claim of a fair bit of money, but eventually got my money out without too much hassle, and are quite helpful.

I also recommend dealing with sean, the company MD when asking all the questions, at it makes him accountable when the fit hits the shan.

thank you AfdElite,

Is this the right I-cycle ? http://www.i-cycleinsurance.co.za/page2.html

Yikes there website doesn't do them any favors at all.. Looks a bit shaky, that website couldn't have cost much.

I don't really like to judge a book by its cover but yikes they need to put a little more effort into the cover, I have seen food trucks with more professional looking websites.

I think I prefer the cycle sure, least the backed by Hollard and wont be going anywhere soon.

even though its kinda strange the bike must be locked down, i will make sure i ask them about that..

anyway thank you guys, you are a great help.

Hey dude, yeah the Web page isn't the greatest, I know... And it's not like I work for them or even get cash for pushing then! I've been found them to be a good, smaller establishment with less hassle and more personalised service (think local bike shop vs Cylabmegastoregiant).

But it's your bike and your money, and insurance is always like choosing the blunted of all the thorns... Always a risk you'll get pricked.

Good luck, I know exactly how you feel about making this choice! It's a *** one and you're never really sure until you claim...

Give arista at guran group a call. I had a claim in may this year. Broke lock off my garage while I was away. I had lock replaced but never took pics of damaged lock.they said all I need to give was proof that I replaced lock and they paid out after two days. They give u option of if u want money to u or to shop and which shop. Bike covered during racing, transport. Just not terrorist activities

Check whether they pay out on insured value or replacement value. If the cost of the replacement model goes up a few thousand thanks to inflation and exchange rates you don't want to be left paying the difference to get the equivalent bike again.
