I remember overtaking a small bunch of riders on road bikes. I was going 11km/h. The guys tried to get onto my wheel but you can't hide from wind like that. The only reason I had any momentum at all was the easier gearing of the MTB. Being large definitely helps as you have lots more power for a marginal increase in frontal area over lighter dudes.Â

racman Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 wife was blown over (no serious injury) by a sudden gust of wind while riding along Gordons Bay/Rooi Els route a few weeks back!!  Â
