travisza Posted December 10, 2013 Share Anyone know where in SA I can get hold of one of these? Can't seem to locate an SA dealer on their site and prices per some of the online shops seem a bit out. (Looking for the Road Machine)
Spoke101 Posted December 11, 2013 Share Have a look here. http://www.importitall.co.za/product_info.php?query=kurt+kinetic&x=0&y=0Or PM W1Z@RD he was selling one a few years ago Edited December 11, 2013 by Spoke101
travisza Posted December 11, 2013 Share Thanks. I think I can import one from Amazon for less than that....around $450 including delivery but ex vat. Still not cheap though.
Spoke101 Posted December 12, 2013 Share True that.
travisza Posted December 12, 2013 Share Although when I compare the cost of importing it (around R5k) and I look at a Fluid 2 for R3.6k I'm very much doubting whether or not its worth it. Pretty certainly going to get the Fluid 2 unless I can find someone flying back from the US with a big bag and space for 13kg
walkerr Posted December 12, 2013 Share I saw the Super Magneto Pro also at a decent price when I was shopping for a trainer. It got pretty good reviews all around. I'm not expert, so couldn't comment whether fluid or magnetic is a better option. I ended up with a Bushido, but TBH 90% of the time I use it with TrainerRoad and Sufferfest - so I could as well have saved the money on the fancier trainer and gone with the Cyclops

Also planning to use TrainerRoad....which was my big reason for wanting the KK.....it has a virtual power curve that you can use with TrainerRoad. Not worth the extra cash though...going with the Fluid 2 I think. walkerr

Just looked now, and they list the Fluid 2 in the trainers - so they've done some calibration. The on screen power is awesome during videos. Ok, it may not be an absolutely accurate number, but it's consistent relative to your setup so it gives you a measure of progress. Beats that whole RPE method. Yeah I know that the power on TR isnt accurate, but like you say its consistently inaccurate which is all you need to measure progress. Did you have to buy an ANT+ stick separately? Where did you get one from?
walkerr Posted December 12, 2013 Share Yes - ordered it from same place I got my Edge 500, which was Nivo. I looked just now though, they still list some GPS stuff, but not the Edge or the Ant+ stick.
walkerr Posted December 12, 2013 Share Showing as around R720 rondelas on both Garmin and Sportsmans: http://www.garminonl...ts/010-10999-00 I'm sure mine was a bit less than that - around R550 I seem to recall. Not sure about delivery costs walkerr
