JBMG Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Hi guys I need help. My Cannondale Flash carbon needs to be serviced regularly otherwise it makes a cracking noise. Will I be able to replace it with a normal headset so that I can also change stem lengths and sort out the cracking problem for good?

They are unique to Cannondale (1.5"), you can find them on e-bay or the likes of Cannondale Experts. You do get Hope headsets in a variety of set ups, bit more tricky to find,

Your noise is not coming from the headset but rather from the stem.If it 2012-current the stem is "integrated" You have a tube screwing into the stem from the bottom......that thread needs to be lined with plumbers tape every so often kilos. Noise gone. Have a look at a "Johnny stem". You can play with angles and stem lengths.
