Hallo

I started working on lourensford in desember and with all the festivities I haven't really had time to look around for a new and trusted LBS. I've driven by williams bike shop and velo cycles, but they both seem to be concept cycle shops. I'm more looking for a flandria cycles type shop. Any advise?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I can vouch for Williams Bike Shop. It would be my lbs if lived in Somerset West.

To be honest, take your pick, especially when it comes to servicing bikes!

If you walk into Velolife, they have all sorts of bikes on their repair stands, and you can sit on the couch with coffee while watching the guy do the work. Rather cool.

Williams is the same, but sheesh he knows his stuff, have not been in for a while though.

Then there is Specialized (old Heldeberg Cycle World), at the Mall

Then there is cycle lab at the Mall

And at the interchange, cycleworx, newish shop and have not been in, so cannot really comment

All within 10 min of each other.

Uuummmm what you do at Lourensford ?

Oh yes advice. Start with one, if they give you great service, stick with that one and build the relationship. Don't heckle to much about price. That way when you need the favour, they do not mind. You be loyal, they be loyal.

I started working as production manager on the farm. Must say the riding on the farm is great. Love the fact that I have trails and mountains to ride on my doorstep :-).

Thanks for the replies! Will take a saturday morning and go walk through all of them.

What Slowbee said. Personally I have a good relationship with Velo and I'll continue to support Malan and his team even though I moved to Stellenbosch.

Had good impression from William too.

There is an adventure race on the farm this weekend. Think it's a spur adventure race so is going to be packed here again, but will let you know then we organise a ride. Just pack your climbing legs, this place is NOT flat.
