i was always on Training camp because I jsut wanted to track my ride and plot the routes to check it out later. Now im using endomondo. I guess they all track and plot routes in the end.

But does anyone know what to use so that I can have it running on my phone and then someone can sit behind a pc and see where I am etc? I know there is something like that but cannot remember what it is

Your Endomondo friends can do live tracking.

Yeah, i see he's been very active in the oos rond area

Yep - just checked. My earlier post was wrong. They took away the map from the front page, but live tracking is still there on the Training tab map. If you see the text window that says "XXX is out cycling" (or whatever sport), that link goes straight to the live map. If it says "was out ..." then it's a static map of the route ridden, run, whatever

Also note, it isn't just friends that can see. If you log out, you'll see there are some rides/runs etc being listed. So I suspect if you don't want public visbility of your training you need to got into Profile settings and select friends only for who can view your training and current position

Thx to the guys above who made me look back at this!

Edit: FWIW - I found Endomondo on "slow update" mode used a lot less phone battery than Strava, and you can still export and upload the rides to Strava. You need the Pro version on the phone to use that - was a one off payment though, not monthly.

Ok, thanks

There used to be a "who's out riding" and it showed you their live position as they rode. That was the link which seemed to have gone. The update after a ride to show a map still seemed to work fine, so you could see where I had ridden. Never tried to look at my Training section to see if the map in there is now a live one and shows current positiion - it used to just show the route after the ride, but maybe they added live position to that map.

Edit: - just checked. Seems the map on the Training tab has a LIVE indicator on it, so I'm guessing that now shows someones position. So maybe they just dropped the old "who's training" map and it's now all on the same map.

Cooll - thanks for pointing this out. Had given up on Endo, but it's good to have a 2nd option for tracking.

Ah i see, I didnt know it was like that previously. I have only been using it since begining of this year.

Will try that, but first I will have to get friends..

Can you track them on the app on your phone or only the webpage?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, yes there were some that were other than Strava, but it was all but a unanimous vote for Strava. I took your advice and now have a profile there, http://www.strava.com/athletes/martijn_vreugde I wanted to rack up at least some rides before sharing my uber noob profile with you fitness freaks.

Anyway, wanted to say thanks a ton, you rock! swing past my profile, would love to follow you least I can do ;-)

cheers
