Is it just me or has anyone else had a hard time fitting the GEAX GATO tubless tyres???? :cursing:

Its all Geax tyres and let me guess....stan's rims?

there is a trick though...let the tyre sit in the sun for about 20min before fitting. Use some soapy water on rim...get green crowbar tyre levers(non neg) and move the bead over to the centre of the rim once the one side is fitted...The combination of all of the above makes fitting possible

Thanks I'll try that, had soapy water but tryes were cool. I was fitting them Syncros rims (Scott Spark std issue). Also have the tubless converion where the tyre sits on the rubber strip so that makes it a bit tighter. Need to lose the rubber strips.

hahahah I battled for 3 nights after work seating my geax, eventually I got it right but apart from stans everywhere I called it character building

I get the tyre on my stans flow EX rim no problems, then inflate it and once it gets hardish, but still soft enough to dent with my thumb the tyre EXPLODES off the rim making a bloody sticky mess. Is the Flow EX rim to wide for the Gato 2.1 tyre or what else might be the problem. I ran the tyre half flat for a month after the first EXPLOSION and thought by now it must have set properly but alas this morning was a dirty mess.
