We badly need rain throughout the land but when there is some rain it plays havoc with MTB trails. We are trying to keep up with the summer maintenance but in some of the blue trails please be careful.

The A loop is super fun right now. Even where we have built the rocky decent for erosion control, you still need good bike skills. Mzuzu is a great challenge for both skill and strength.

The B loop has been shortened for a while to make space for the cross- country trail being preparation for the Burry Stander Memorial XCO #3 that is happening at Thaba on the 29th March. This trail is going to be a tester. The West wing is a power section with some great climbs. The "new" decent has a "B"line for those not up to a serious drop off. The GAP jump once again is included in this trail of 4,8 km a true XCO course.

The directional boards on the green trail are being numbered with the following emergency information.

1) A general inquiry/ emergency telephone number.

2) A medical emergency number for HELIVAC.

3) A number on the back of the arrow boards you will tell us where you are on the trail.

We will extend this marking system throughout the park......

HOW DOES IT WORK ?? When you are experiencing some form of crisis you need to contact a number off the back of the nearest directional board. For a medical emergency, HELIVAC is our Medical Service Provider. You can call them directly for attention. When you are fetched off the trails by HELIVAC....there is a cost involved as in ALL medical call outs. HOWEVER if you are a HELIVAC Member there is NO CHARGE....so it's a no brainer NOT to belong to HELIVAC.

Come enjoy the thrill of true Mountain biking within the City Boundries.

Oh BOY....I asked for rain on the 25th so I am not complaining....BUT.... now I am asking you to be careful out there. The mud will stick to everything. The soil at Thaba really sheds the water but down near the river there is the black turf and that's sticky. Come enjoy the XCO Course which is basically ready for the Provincial happening on the 29th March. The 12 Hour next week may be the cause of the RAIN !!!!
