Looking for a suitable IDT for a MTB. I previously bought a Cycleops Fluid 2 and had to return it as my wheel got caught on the fly wheel bracket. I do not want to change my wheel every time I use it.

So my question is, how quick will I ruin my knobbly tyre and what make will accommodate a 29er (large). I understand the length and intensity will make a huge difference.

Will the tyre get destroyed rather quick or pretty much the same as riding on the road?

I have tried it on the Tacx trainers and although the bike fitted (until I upgraded to a bike with a through axle) spinning a knobbly made a HUGE racket. I cant comment on tire wear as the noise was too much to ride with. My road tires wear down about 30% faster on the trainer than on the road though.
