Looking at doing the 50 miler. Does the 50 finish and start in the same place or you need a lift back to the start (once finished..)?

160km of open dirt roads through brownish farmlands. Few climbs at the start & end, rest flattish with a few rolling hills. On the day it can be muddy & cold as it is in winter. Won't win any prizes for exciting route & atmosphere, but it's a nice challenge of your endurance levels.

Will do it again but not every year.

You can park at the finish and get a shuttle to the starting point, but you need to book early

I did the 100 miles a few years ago. Was completely and hopelessly undertrained. I was OK up to about 120 km, but then suffered and cramped and limped my way home. So the lesson learnt: If you are an older and well built :)) cyclist, make sure that you do the training before the race.
