Fitted.......bugger to get onto ArchEX.

Anyone up for an explanation on the following?:

Racing Ralph (Evo, TLR, Snakeskin) 29x2.25 (57-622) - outside bead to outside bead diameter =53mm (52.8)

KENDA Nevegal (DTC) 29x2.20 (55-622) - outside bead to outside bead diameter = 59mm (58.8)

More thread on track/riding surface with correct pressure......or not?

What would you say is the fat percentage on that tire?

Donno......but it is another story for the 103kg that the tyre needs to carry......and its not a good story......especially on inclines.......work in progress.

I found that since switching from 26er to 29er it don't much matter what tyre I use, I just get so much more grip! Right now I'm running what my s-works come out with eg. S-Works Renegade on the rear and S-works Fast Trak on the front. And I've experimented loads with my 26er and nothing comes close to switching to 29er for grip especially since the s-works tyres don't look very grippy.

its grip is VERY pressure related and associated sweetspot is in a very narrow band. I hated mine until i pulled finger and got to work trying different pressures till the grip was a maximum for my way of riding. When it works, it works very very well. Slightly too much pressure, and it's a squirrelly mofo. Too low a pressure (not talking going flat here), and the sidewalls fold turning the bike into a hovercraft, and we know how well a hovercraft corners.. meh..

Yeah, I kinda found that too with the normal Nevegals. But, I had a UST set on the 5.5 and they were - even though ridiculously heavy but bulletproof - less "hovercrafty"...

They roll as slowly as a tractor though, regardless.

Going to be running a Hans Dampf/RoRo combo on my new bike (shhhh... ;) ) soon, looking forward to seeing how that turns out.
