Hi there

I'm Looking to buy my first bicycle and i want to go the road route. I'm not looking to buy new but I see that they come in sizes, small, medium, large etc. and then cm sizes as well. Im 1.7m tall. What size would generally fit someone of that size?

I'm 1.63 and ride a 54cm. Medium frame and its a perfect fit. I see you on a medium.

I am 1,80 and also ride a 54cm medium frame. Also a perfect fit. Edited by F111

It all depends on the length of your legs. I'm 1.71 but cycling on a small frame because I have short back and longer legs (you cannot make the top tube move but can move your seat post and stem) your back must not be under strain.

Generally i would say Medium but go and measure up as you might have longer Legs. a Friend of mine is 1.7 and he uses a large. i myself ride medium and im 1.74

Hi every1, I'm also new to the cycling scene, love on and off-road cycling, a year or two I wanted to start cycling as a hobby just to get my mind off of things and really enjoyed it a lot, I was adviced to buy a cheapy so I bought a totem duel suspension, was under 2k for the bike, don't laugh I know I was silly, now I'm hooked on the scene, but I'm in the proses of getting a silverback 2nd hand within the next week or so, my question, if where do I start if I want to start fun rides and bigger events ect, when we cycle we average on about 20-30kms every evening.

From experience. Whatever is close. Don't go doing any stage races but most events cater for every skill level. Look at the short or middle distances. Even if you finish last. Which I have twice......my bikes loves mechanicals in races.....its still an awesome day out and you learn.

Ok will look around, thank you for not treating like a idiot, as that is what normaly happens. Does any1 know anything bout totem bikes, how strong are they and are they worth anything?
