Hakahana Enduro 2016 Race #3 :

Its been quite a week. Man-down but certainly not tools down. A huge amount has been done since most of you rode here last and a lot of it by our volunteer fairies. :)

STAGES - RACE #3:
Peppercorns (SP2) - is back in!! Two full days of rock sweep and grass trim has it back to its stupendous original shape. Just a bit wilder! There are new lines... take a look.

Rinkhals (SP1+Alt) - Will only be fully rideable next weekend. There will be some serious change-ups and pleasant surprises here (and it won't go all the way to the end this time.:)

Zonkey (SP10/3) - Just because its still running schweeet and the new ending adds good.

SP?? - (SP479 combo?) - as yet unfinalized.

Armadildo (SP8) - 'Haydens Flowline' at the end of SP8 could be the decider on the day. Its a RAD new feature for Hakahana already 60hours in the making. Its covered in carpets this weekend to help hold it together for final prep next week but still rideable. Special Thanks especially to Hayds Brown (Flowmaster/layout), Greg Richter (sculptor extraordinaire), Matt Barnett (beat-box), Elvis, Obed, Sinki, (the engines) and Charl Van Zyl, Arthur and Bush for jumping in to put it all together. And to Roger and Joe for sponsoring the big machines. #Endurocommunityatwork. Thanks.

See you on the weekend.

Have never been there before. Would like to hook up if possible to check out some stages.

Will be there on Saturday.

Once you have had a taste of Haka, all else in GP seems mild and boring. Check it out this weekend and then enter for the Enduro champs in 2 weeks... 2 days of EPIC racing to look forward to!

There should be biggish groups out both days for the next two weekends. Just pull in.

My first time out at Hakahana on Saturday,

50m into the first run (SP1) I hit a rock, bent the crankarm, snapped the chiain & ripped through the rear deraileur cable. Had to single speed it out of there and did SP 2 without a chain (took it off just in case of more damage)

Luckily I hooked up with some awesome people who helped me out with spares etc.

Bike shop repairs = R2650

Confidence level = 0.

Hahahaha that sounds about right   good thing you didn't do SP2 first!

Just joking, but yeah it was so hot on Sunday I overcooked my brakes and they locked up the back wheel completely

Hakahana is definitely the proving ground for any bicycle :excl:
