PYGA will be bringing out some hub's in the very near future. Ive seen one of the prototypes, light, strong and has over 30 pawls for instant lag free engagement no mater where you are in your stroke. They are going to be awesome hubs, they also have a very unique noise from having so many pawls.

Pawls?

Novatec hubs run 6 pawls, and even though engagement is at an average 15 degrees, they look, feel and run really well.

Of course it's early days (about 250km on mine), but I'm pretty pedantic about stuff and I'm impressed at the moment. Way better than an Easton Haven setup, which I previously had.

At less than half the price of a Pro 2 Evo, it's a no-brainer...

Which Novatec hubs do you have as they produce a variety of different arrangements.

I have a no-name hub with 6 pawls (2 rows of 3 offset from each other) in need of a new freehub.

I also have Nukeproof Generators which also have 6 pawls (on the hubs body as opposed to the freebody), thereby giving the 30 engagement points.

Some other hubs use the same arrangement

yeah see that axle sticking out that yellow hub? thats what broke on my old str8 track

so didn't see any of your directions before i went to go fetch the hub, so i went to chris willemse and got one of their sales men to give me the directions

it is a 2013 gt force, i thought i got the 135mm hub, but now that you guys mention it I'm not so sure, bt it doesn't matter cause i checked and it fits just fine, the wheel is being built at crown and i can fetch it on monday.

i agree, first prize would have been a hope pro 2 or a superstar something, but i didn't want to wait and I'm hoping that the novatec will be #enduro enough for me, considering how much it weighs it should be able to handle anything i can throw at it.

on an unrelated topic, does anyone know what the max pressure on my shock (fox dhx 5) is, because i think its 200psi or bar (you guys will know the unit) which is what I'm running it at and it still feels really soft

Cool, glad you came right.

To be honest though, I reckon hubs take more of a bashing with XCO-type riding (actually, even with marathons) than they do with enduro, so you'll be fine... The odd really hard smash is less of an issue than constant grinding through adverse conditions.

Ex Fox Site

  • Pressurize your main air chamber to a minimum of 50 psi and no more than 300 psi. You will tune to a more specific air pressure in the Setting Sag section below.
