TheV Posted April 5, 2014 Share All new Bike has 300km on the clock Anything changed lately, like you washed the bike and maybe got some oil/cleaner/lube,etc on the rotors? Muddy and wet ride? Making the same noise both front and back?

TheV Posted April 6, 2014 Share If it's making the same noises in the front and back: 1. then clean the both rotors with isopropyl alcohol.2. take the pads out, clean with isopropyl alcohol, sand them lightly to remove any gunk, clean again with the isopropyl alcohol.3. double check your rotors are torqued correctly and not loose. Make sure you clean the back of the pad, AND the piston contact surface too - I usually put a very light smear of HIGH temp copper slip on the contact surface - make SURE you do not contaminate either the pad or rotor with grease. Guest Smimby Posted April 7, 2014 Share what V12Man said, and you can also use 800 grit sand paper on a FLAT surface and sand the pads. wipe the rotors down with isoprop....
V12man Posted April 7, 2014 Share what V12Man said, and you can also use 800 grit sand paper on a FLAT surface and sand the pads. wipe the rotors down with isoprop.... Sand the rotors too - just lightly - then clean with isopropyl alcohol - this takes the pad contact layer off the rotor - then you also need to re-bed the brakes too. StoffelWP Posted April 7, 2014 Share I have seen this on certain rotors (like the Hope Saw). Going uphill your weight shift to the back and the thicker part of then rotor scratches the bottom of the caliper. Lift the caliper by putting spacers below the it.
