A Little bit of Mankele

After the sappi race ( was race support for the wife so I did not race), I had some available time to ride my bike on some of the trails.

 

Admittedly I started very late in the afternoon, mised the turnoff and ended up climbing quite a bit up the mountain. After what seemed like forever, I dedcided to rather turn around as to not get caught on the trails after dark.

 

We all know what goes up, must go down.

 

 

Broke a spoke, trying to avoid a stone on the trail, clipping it and causing it to hit the rim.

And some of the plants that grow over the trail shreds your arms quite nicely, but you only realise after stopping and the adrenaline subsiding.

those plants are known as Glentana. They will cut you to pieces, and the problem is their thorns are so sharp you wont feel it. You only realize it at the end of your ride. We rode Enduna twice last year, when we were finished we looked like actors from "Chainsaw massacre"
