G-man Posted April 25, 2014 Share 2015 Dates for the 3Mountains Challenge in 2015 will be from 19th of March till the 22nd of March. The timing is perfect as the 3Mountains race then serves as good groundwork for riders whoenter for other bigger races that follow shortly after that. Riders doing the “Sani2C” as wellas the “Joburg2C” will without doubt gain an advantage in terms of preparation and tosharpen for the abovementioned multi stage races. It can also support the preparation ofcyclists taking part in the annual “Mzansi-Tour”. Not all mountain bike enthusiasts are in the position to take part in the Cape Epic tour whichtakes place simultaneously, so this is a good alternative. 3Mountains cater for all kinds of riders. The longer distances cater for the moreexperienced riders and the shorter distances for the fun-rider and less experience riders. Team Competitions: Open teamsMixed teamsMasters teamsSolo competition:Solo menSolo ladies In the Short distance: Men:u/18 menu/16 men Ladies:u/18 ladiesu/16 ladies The short distance also accommodates all fun riders, such as participants who want to makean attempt at stage racing but are not fit or experienced enough to tackle the long distance. The Schools category provides the opportunity to all young riders under the age of 18 toparticipate in one of the few stage races which offer a category for youth in the country. This is an event for the whole family, with the emphasis on fun, beautiful scenery and avariety of choices in terms of fitness and experience levels, without compromising on qualityat an affordable price. In 2015 the Clocolan Annual Carnival will coincide with the 3Mountains Challenge and willthus create a more festive atmosphere for the event. Heel Drop Posted December 5, 2014 Share I can see this race grow over the coming years as this area is some of the most scenic in SA. Some good proper free state hospitality and what better way to spend a weekend away
Chris NewbyFraser Posted December 15, 2014 Share The shorter route of 50km/day would also be ideal for the Grand Master category (this is in line with the CSA guidelines). Any chance that this category could be added to create a racing opportunity for the biltong and fossil brigade?
