Sven137 Posted May 5, 2014 Share Hi Can I put Road wheels on my titan calypso mtb bike?
javadude Posted May 5, 2014 Share Not road wheels, but you can try a set of 29er mtb wheels with road tyres. I put 29er wheels with cyclocross tyres on a 26" GT avalanche that I used for commuting. That bike was so much fun to ride and pretty decent off road too.
kennyg Posted May 6, 2014 Share yes it can be done. It mean building a second wheelset, with the disc hubs and road rims.
Bat-ass Posted May 6, 2014 Share Ya, as long as you use MTB disc hubs.MTB rear frame spacing is 135mm. Road hubs are 130mm.Front bit wider too.
Sven137 Posted May 6, 2014 Share What is a disk hub? So would it be better to get mtb wheels? As the bike has disks back and front
gummibear Posted May 6, 2014 Share Mountain bike hubs have 6 holes for the disc to mount. What's your reason for wanting to do it?
Eugene Posted May 6, 2014 Share Hi Can I put Road wheels on my titan calypso mtb bike?No you can't without having to have wheels custom made. Just put slicks on your current wheels.

Twombles Posted May 6, 2014 Share Hi-jack on - sorry I know the rim width on a MTB wheel is not the same as a road wheel. But will you be able to fit a 28c Gatorskin on a MTB wheel? What are the chances of the tyre coming off around a corner? Hi-jack off
Twombles Posted May 6, 2014 Share Also, are MTB rims that specific?Noob questions, I know, but to me it would seem like you will just be building a new set of MTB wheels (if you use MTB hubs and road rims).

Depends. You can fit 29er or road wheels with road tyres onto a 26er. Ona 29er you're just buying a spare pair of wheels so you don't have to swap tyres all the time.
