Following the crash 10 k's from the finish in the Giro yesterday, I see Cadel and others are coming under fire for not calling a stop to racing so the other contenders could catch up.

Its a race and accidents happen.

Race on I say, the wheel turns and its gonna happen to everyone some day.

Why wait, it is a race and your in it to win it.

Where does it end in terms of waiting for your opposition when things happen.

What if your main rival created the crash, do you still wait.

Me, I say its a race and every team / rider should race to the best of their ability without breaking the rules.

Yes its easy and "honorable" to simply sit up and say wait to /for the other riders, but its also not always that simple...sponsors, spectators, race directors, past history (you never waited for me last time...)

Maybe its time for the race referee to step in, like a yellow flag safety car, i.e. the dude standing in the (often red) car with sunroof, flag and sunglasses?

Expecting riders to make the "correct" decisions during the final few km's of a racing stage is always going to be controversial, where do u draw the line i.e. dropped chains, punctures, falling due to taking risks.....?

I say sit up and wait, if LA could do it, and did, if the entire Sky team could do it, and did, if Ullrich, Hamilton and quite a few others could do it, and did, so can Cadel.

Reminded me a bit of Hincappies disgraceful attack on Oscar Pereiro after sucking wheel up the entire mountain, never liked him after that,....similar dislike for Evans now as well..

Honest question: can a rider overule the DS? What if the team says go and you disagree? I understand Cadel has a lot of say but would his teammates sit up if the DS says Go! Go!Go! ( my version of shouting in Italian).
