3 of the first 4 age group ladies coming out of the water this year at IMSA were Dinamic coached triathletes. Another athlete reduced their swim pace from 2:05/100m to 1:35 in 12 weeks and is now 12months on holding 1:26/100 as css pace. So confident in saying that our system seems to work fairly well as well.

Don't do weekend courses like Ti but we do video analysis and develop swim programmes for individuals with regular follow ups based on the analysis. Our approach is strongly based on Swim Smooth who are responsible for developing the Swim curriculum and methodologies for British Triathlon Coaching. DM me if interested with your contact details and I will give you a shout

I did the two day course this weekend and found it incredibly beneficial. If you're a novice swimmer and need some tools to give you confidence and a stroke, go for it.

I can't compare it to any other kind of training, as I haven't had any. Prior to this weekend, my swimming was equivalent to a large 1970s television. Poor.

Id be to embarrassed to make use of someone like Natalie Tissink.

Jokes aside, Ive made use of two swim coaches in the past (Ones a nation championship swimmer that helped me in her spare time, and the other is a swim coach for a respected university). But although I think they helped me tremendously, I was at the same time, unable to do and grab all what they wanted me to do (Probably to fat, and old :) ).

I think the appeal of Total Immersion is its style of swimming. Its very relaxed and almost effortless swimming.

Just going through the motions, so to say. Which is quite appealing to us age groupers, that just need to "survive" the swim and move on to the bike.

I see the next Cape Town dates is 26/27 July. Hope fully the wife agrees.

Thanks to those that provided feedback and responded.

That is where video plays such an important part. Often in swimming people pervceive that they are doing x and in fact are doing y. Video gives immediate feedback which allows the swimmer to see what they are doing and helps understand the impact that any action has on their overall effectiveness in the water. Because they can then understand this they can then more easily take on board correctional activities and persevere with them. Also by seeing the difference the corrections make positive reinforcement is enhanced.

Actually the endless pool is very similer to an open water environment so what you are doing in it is most likely what you are doing on open water.

Don't be, its not like she has you swimming next to Rynard! She is very welcoming and don't mix her words. She had no problem telling me im just lazy and needed to work harder.

The pool does take some adjustment, especially to find a sweet spot in the middle and not touch the front of the pool. The feedback session is were the real value is.
