Panik0703 Posted May 26, 2014 Share Hey guysSo I have a pair of shimano slx cranks on my bike and i have now noticed that the right hand pedal thread has become somewhat stripped and now allows the pedal to shift facing downwards when i put any weight on it What i was wanting to know was does anyone here know of a machining or engineering place that will be able to drill it out and to a cap to replace the thread? In Cape Town RegardsAngus
droo Posted May 26, 2014 Share The right hand one's a standard imperial thread, so most places will be able to do it. Link Engineering in Salt River have done a few for me in the past though.

DARK KNIGHT Posted September 30, 2014 Share It seems I have stripped the thread of either my crank arm or pedal, not sure yet. First mission is to get the pedal out (slipping). Anyone know of a LBS / specialist who will be able to assist me in the cpt area?
David Marshall Posted September 30, 2014 Share Shotto droo....I also need a drop out sorted with a partially stripped thread.Wheels Manufacturing make a kit for repairing the RD attachment thread. It involves drilling out the hole, re tapping and fitting a threaded sleeve. Not cheap so more likely to be used on frames without sacrificial hangars. In theory there is a helicoil available but I have not found the right one locally.
