The 65 and 30km race will take you on single track,jeep track and no tar roads.This is a circular route.The 65km route will turn around at the now famous Brauhaus am Damm with a water point with some beer to sample.One rideable hill for the King and Queen of the mountain for the 65 and 30km The Juniors will have a PRINCE and PRINCESS of the mountain on the 30km. First Male and Female SINGLE SPEED riders to complete the 65km will also be rewarded with a cash prize. P.S. NO GEAR FIXING. A 10km race for the novice in the sport will take place on farm road and jeep track. The venue at KONKA with a floating bridge finish right infront of a deck with all the family and friends enjoying whats on offer to eat and drink and waiting for a spectacular fall off the bridge. After prize giving the lucky draw of a GT KARAKORUM 3.0 MOUNTAIN BIKE valued at R6900.00 and sponsored by CYCLE ZONE Rustenburg will take place.Showers and a bike wash will be available THE NORTH WEST MTB CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE AT THIS EVENT. Something for everyone with lots and lots of single track for those offroad junkies!
JJDT Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Opted for this event instead of the USN MTB race. Did the 30km and enjoyed it some good technical sections, awesome single track and a nice long climb (maybe on par with the Monster climb). It was very cold to start of at 7:25 the car registered a -4.5 outside temp. Very nice event and not many riders = to nice open track even if you start way back in the field. Anyone know where the results can be viewed?
Trelawney Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Really enjoyed this, did the 60 km. never seen so many rocky ascents and descents in one event, really enjoyed it, well done to the organisers. It was more than worth the 90 minute drive each way from Pretoria East ! Loved the river section after the beer stop, very van Gaalenesque. Will be back.

Also photos will be on actionshots.co.za Hi MIKE and every MTBiker that took part at the KONKA thank you.For the second year and more single track it seems you bikers enjoyed it.Sorry about "HENNAS REVENGE" its not personal,but the good came after the bad.Sorry it took so long for the results and photos I am already bussy with anoter challange the DAM2DAM 2day stage race 2and3 August 2014 watch the race dates or cycleevents.The photos are ready check it out on actionshots.co.za hope to see you all back next year HENNA.
