Giant Anthem X 4

Hey Guys, I've got a question re. a Giant Athem X 4. A LBS is selling a new 2012 model for R10K. The specs are here... http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-in/bikes/model/anthem.x.4/10842/53030/#specifications

 

I've checked on Bike Radar and a few other review sites, but I can't find any user reviews on it. I'd really appreciate any advice from experienced riders if this is a good bike for me with decent components for the price. I'm in the mountains about 3-4 times/week and enjoy trails like Tokai, Deer Park, Magic Forest, etc. Thanks!

I can vouch for the shifters and deraillieurs. Had the same on my Revel. Not bad at all. Swapped out the shifters to some second hand XT's. Deore deraillieur is actually flippen good. Shofts well. Fork is the same as on my silverback, felt good, worked well. Decent price for a decent bike by the looks of it i would push for a little more discount. Some of the CPT guys can pipe in further than that methinks.

Its a good frame, and a good fork.The anthem is a bike which is well known,as they are a good design.

Have a 2008 anthem which I am very happy with.

The frame on my Giant anthem X 2014 broke, at the seat tube and top tube connect.......Granted Giant did say they will replace the frame. Still waiting.

 

The general consensus is that perhaps the L frame was too small and the seat post not in deep enough.

 

The GIANT blokes are very suspect as this is their first broken anthem frame here in Taiwan.
