I'd have to say its pretty good

Not sure how to re create all the segments stuff and the leader boards but I like them

Courses and Course editing weak, found my self another app

My priority on a web app has always been finding better tracks and what no one offers is a safety rating by users on a road.

 

Before we can start I really need to figure out everything about the route files so I'm doing quit a lot of investigation.

Do you use the term 'course' for Strava 'route'? (I see you created a test route) If yes - would be keen to hear what you found that is better? Personally I found the Strava RouteMaster (http://engineering.s...om/routemaster/) extremely easy and good - especially merging road and mtb tracks into a single route. Pity the routes and route builder it is not in the API V3 (yet).

 

So after seeing this is started playing with Strava a bit more, especially the route creation section.. I must say that the Global Heatmap is an awesome feature, needs some refinement, but I think it makes what I am trying to do here redundant.

 

You would still need to plot your own route before downloading it, but that is ok..

 

The fact that you can browse a map and spot where people have ridden is great.

 

It would be nice if you could have an option to toggle between on and off road heatmap, would make it easier to suss out where trails are. And also if it had options of grades and elevation. It is in the beta stage, so might be something to keep an eye on.

You going to have to excuse my strava knowledge, Ive been on for 2 days.

I found a button on strava to create route, it brings up a app called route builder.

So I had a route I normally do on wednesday afternoon and wanted to change a piece of it, from a route someone else did, over melville koppies. Couldn't get it right to cut a piece out of a route

I found this app, it works quit well, the java is a bit glitchy the first couple of time you run it, on a mac. But just maximise it and close it, when you open it again its maximised and you can work on it

Stumbled across route converter a few weeks back, not bad once you get used to it, but ja it is glitchy.

Anybody know where I can obtain routes from JHB to Bloemfontein iro the Bloem Dash happening next year?  

Would appreciate help in this regard as I am not computer literate.....at all.
