Joji Posted July 27, 2014 Share We were on our way to Imana wild ride driving out of the drive way and forgot that the concrete pillar above the gate was too low to get my bike through resulting in a cracked BMC frame! I know this is a long shot but does anyone have a bike in the south coast area that we can loan for 4 days - I would be eternally grateful! DJR Posted July 27, 2014 Share What frame size? By when? Where are you now? Wish I could help, but from Cape town, I can't even offer to ride it in your place ;-)
Joji Posted July 27, 2014 Share It's a medium frame - we need a bike within the next hour or so. Currently in Trafalgar just past South broom

DJR Posted July 27, 2014 Share If it is a minor crack, I would try sticking it together with some type of stiff brace (thick stiff plastic cut from a container) and duckt tape and just ride it. Areas around frame joints are tricky, but cut the plastic into shape and wrap it tightly. One layer of tape directly on frame, then brace, then many layers of tape over that. Aluminium frame? Carbon frame? If the thing is broken completely through, then pray for a loaner. Or stick a piece of pipe inside frame. Duct tape over "broom stick" to make it fit tightly. Then duct tape over outside.
