Please can everyone help educate our lycra-clad, 29er marathon type bretheren:

Those bumpy things you are riding over from the wrong side (specifically , when going downstream, the cool jump/table line after the big concrete bridge after the bombhole) are in actual fact jumps. And when you and your 5 budgie smuggling chommies all ride over the lip (not a inch of air in sight) from the wrong side, you are in fact damaging said lip.

Some people are just clueless, and the handful of times that I've tried to say something, I've been met with very strange looks, like WTF are you talking about?

Kinda makes you want to chop all the tables into gaps

Sheesh dude you sound cross. Stereotyping probably won't help your case. Most riders on the Spruit are there for fun and don't know the "rules", nevermind the group you're referring to.

Maybe you can organise training-and-friendly-rule rides for the less knowledgeable riders like me?

Thought no quads / motorbikes were allowed - have seen some signs about this in places ?

Well then next time I will do more than block the trail by swerving left and right!

I have been also rather concerned about this, are we allowed to put up arrows at the end and start of that section on wooden poles. This could stop the "newbies" riding it the wrong way?

Something that is becoming more and more of an issue, is the Spruit route being used by quads and Enduro Bikes as a race track. We were almost run over again by a quad and a enduro bike on the stretch by the golf club yesterday. Has anyone else experienced this and what can we do about it?

They aren't allowed there. In summer the mounted river police will impound their bikes if they are caught. I was told a while back when they stopped me on the river near Devonshire Road that it's a green belt and NO motorised transport is allowed
