  1. Hey, So could someone please direct me (PM) to the person that built the Victory park line below the gym. I see there is a lot of soil around there and I have come across a lot of time so I can build I just want to speak to him as I don't want to change his vision for the line. Thank you:
  2. Thanks, that is a good starting point. Doing some research into the cycling industry in South Africa. More specifically the online activity (eCommerce) so was going to see if I can chat to someone at each of them.
  3. After a quick Google search I can't seem to find the registered importers for many of the cycling brands (Shimana, Sram, etc). Does anyone know where I could get a list of importers from, does this even exist?
  4. Is there a session this Friday? And how late do you guys normally go till?
  5. These were my fears... From Yeti I have to buy the full kit (8 bearings). So maybe can avoid it then
  6. A little bit of a shot in the dark hey, trying to avoid having to order a new bearing pack from Yeti... Is there any way of redoing your own bearings, unseal, pop them out, regrease them, put back together, and then hopefully they run smoothly. Or is my only option to order a new bearing kit?
  7. Then I would get myself a med pair of flats (Giants are reasonable priced). Some grippy shoes - people will help you with this happily. I just don't want to make this a technical debate when it actually doesn't need to be. You just want flats to up your confidence to learn to do some more fun things. Nothing wrong with that. I have been riding for years and I still refuse to hit a big gap with cleats. Don't break the bank because you may want to move back once you have upped your skills maybe
  8. It all comes down to personal preference.... The way I think about it is if you want to go to 50km jeep track every second day get yourself some cleats. If you want to up your skills, try a little jump or two, hit a berm, walk back up 50m to hit a section 10 times over then flats may be for you. Side note, skating shoes are rad I just find that they hardly last, I will massacre a pair in 3 months so 5-10's are way stronger and worth it
  9. Stripping the crank arm is most likely not pedal quality nore crank quality but rather the pedal may have been slightly loose in the crank thread to be honest... I rode some DMR V8 flats with a basic shimano crank for 2 years and I was able to do the scout hall jump line numerous times without hassle. As everyone said a second hand SLX/XT is the way to go with some decent flats (if you not looking to spend an arm and a leg I would suggest Giant flats - good quality). Just always ensure they are screwed in tightly...
  10. I can vouch for these, arrived at Van Gaalens and forgot my shoes so went all the way to the Greek church in these (yes I could have lost a toe). But in terms of grip and ventilation they are insane!!
  11. I really just want to say thanks to the guys that have reworked the Hurlingham line.... The amount of soil needed to move for that build must have been insane wish I knew so I could help but wow it rides so beautifully. The berm size and the width of those jumps make them so fun to play more. So thanks again and if you need help tell me who to PM so I can on a whatsapp list or however it is organised
  12. 1. Hide them well 2. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission 3. Act stupid
  13. I am still waiting for a part I ordered 2 months ago for my SB66, so probably not...
  14. Anyoe possible to help on this? Finally getting around to getting this frame going as my XC frame.
