Event Name: Van Loveren's Java MTB Challenge

The 2nd annual Java MTB Challenge takes place on Saturday, 4 October 2014 at Van Loveren Family Vineyards in the Robertson Valley. Riders can choose between 4 MTB trails varying in distance, terrain and technical difficulty - catering for children and beginners, through to the seasoned mountain biker. Runners can also look forward to the new 10 km vineyard trail run. Plenty of food stalls and other activities on site to enjoy for the whole family. Virgin territory and custom-built single tracks

 

Spectacular valley and vineyard views

 

Ideal training race for Bridge Cape Pioneer Track and To Hell and Back

 

8km:

 

An easy non-technical fun ride suitable for children, perfect for families to do together.

 

 

 

20km:

 

An ideal route for beginners with rewarding vineyard and valley views. Mostly jeep track with some single track, not very technical with only 250m elevation.

 

 

 

45km:

 

An ideal route for intermediate riders, includes some parts of the 2014 ABSA Cape Epic route, the route boasts an elevation of +- 550m. Spectacular valley & vineyard views!

 

 

 

80km:

 

A grueling route for top riders only. Includes many parts of the 2014 ABSA Cape Epic route, virgin territory and custom-built single tracks. The 1800m elevation will challenge even the most seasoned rider, making this an excellent training race for the “Bridge Cape Pioneer Track” and “To Hell and Back”

 

 

 

10km Trail Run:

 

A most scenic route crossing the Breede River, along vineyards and across the Elandsberg Mountain. Don’t be fooled by the distance, the 350m elevation, and rocky terrain will make you look forward to the finish line.

I entered the 45km and paid R150. Do I need to get the RaceTec chip thing as well, or can I just collect my no. and race on that, and not get results online?

Only paid up PPA members with a Racetec chip will have their results reflect

Doing the race the next day at Oak Valley. Can't justify the cost for this one!!

Ja, ek het ook gedink dit is n bietjie duur, veral as jy nie n ppa lid is nie en laat inskryf ook.

It is quite a system they have .Pay a little more use your tag if you wish but your result won't be posted.Ive opted to avoid racetec run events as a matter of principle .
